Tourism in Kalgoorlie-Boulder
Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Goldfields region are home to a number of unique and exciting tourism destinations, as well as many buildings and destinations of historical significance.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder owns tourist destinations such as the Goldfields Oasis, a world class aquatic facility. There are also plans underway to install an outdoor water slide and a stationary wave device.
Hammond Park is the largest park in the City and is home to a variety of native animals including kangaroos, emus and many species of birds. Hammond Park provides outstanding barbeque and picnic facilities, children’s play equipment and features a miniature Bavarian Castle constructed from local gemstones. The shady park includes a large duck pond, many aviaries and is a relaxing and enjoyable environment for visitors of all ages.
The Boulder and Kalgoorlie Town Halls, both built in 1908, are well preserved and exemplars of the architechtural style of the prosperous goldrush days. The Kalgoorlie Town Hall is home to the Kalgoorlie Goldfields Visitors Centre, and the Boulder Town Hall houses the rare and famous Philip Goatcher Stage Curtain, believed to be the last remaining example of its kind.
